Overview
CardPing is an iOS app by Luys Labs LLC that helps you keep credit cards active by tracking how long each card has been unused and reminding you when a card needs a small transaction. This policy explains what information the app handles and where it lives. The design principle is simple: CardPing is built so that we cannot access your data, not merely that we choose not to.
Information the App Stores
When you add a card, CardPing stores only what you type in:
- A nickname and the issuing bank's name
- The last four digits of the card (for your own identification only)
- Card network and a display color
- Dates: when the card was opened, when it was last used, and your reminder history
- Your reminder preferences
CardPing never asks for, stores, or transmits full card numbers, expiration dates, security codes, credentials, balances, or transactions. The app has no bank connections and cannot see your real account activity — the dates it tracks are the ones you enter and confirm.
Information We Collect
None. CardPing has no user accounts, no sign-up, no analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers, and no crash-reporting services operated by us. Luys Labs LLC operates no servers that receive your data.
Data Storage and Security
Your card records are stored locally on your device. If iCloud is enabled, they also sync through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, protected by your Apple Account security and encrypted by Apple in transit and at rest. This private iCloud database is accessible only to you; Luys Labs LLC has no access to it and no ability to read, recover, or delete its contents.
Notifications
Reminders are generated locally on your device using Apple's local notification system. No notification content passes through our servers or any third party. You can revoke notification permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Third-Party Services
The app currently embeds no third-party services. If a future version adds optional services (for example, a purchase-processing SDK for a Pro subscription), this policy will be updated before release, and any such service will never receive your card records.
Children's Privacy
CardPing is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone — including children. Since the app collects no data, no child's data can be collected by us.
Your Rights and Data Control
All of your data is under your direct control. To delete it, delete the cards in the app or delete the app itself; to remove synced copies, delete CardPing's data from iCloud in iOS Settings (Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Account Storage). Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to export, correct, or erase on our side — and nothing we could hand over to anyone else.
Data Retention
Data remains on your device and in your iCloud account until you delete it. Luys Labs LLC retains nothing.
Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
While Apple's platform security protects your data in transit and at rest, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and you are responsible for securing your device and Apple Account. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Luys Labs LLC shall not be liable for any damages arising from unauthorized access to your device or iCloud account.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date above. Continued use of CardPing after changes constitutes acceptance.
